Taking the Internet for Granted

So many of us take the internet for granted now because it’s been around long enough for us to not vividly remember what it was like before it. I mean, most of us remember that to find a phone number you had to look in the phone book, and in order to get information on something you had to go to the library. The part that I myself fail to really comprehend is how much work it took to do some of these things. Some as easy as just opening the phone book, where others like trying to find a credit center for bad credit was not so easy.

The thing is, back then we had to know that something like a   bad credit credit center existed. Our knowledge of things was from TV, radio, school, or word of mouth. If we didn’t get it from there, we didn’t get it. The amazing part about the internet is the fact that at a push of a button, I can have something randomly pop up on my screen like a national car credit center that I never knew existed. It will give me information about it like that it’s a bad credit center, what they do, and where they are located.

Now, I can have some random thing pop in my head, and in the next second find out all there is to know about it. Before, I either had to research it in the library, or ask around to see if anyone knew anything about it.

I’m not sure if the youth of today fully comprehend how amazing this all is. They were born into it and never have known any different so it’s difficult for them to understand how truly lucky they are. Don’t get me wrong, I know there are a lot of downsides to the internet; but for me, the benefits far outweigh them.
